The Special Services department evolved from the Farmington Area Recreation Commission in 1948 to the Special Services Department in 1985. Farmington Hills has more than 600 acres of public parks, skate park, an ice arena, swimming pool, senior center, gymnasium and facilities for baquets and meetings.
