Bloomfield Township has a small Animal Welfare unit providing response to calls for domestic and farm animals as well as wildlife. The Animal Welfare Shelter is located near the Police Department and is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Bloomfield Senior Center offers services to improve the quality of life for seniors and ill or disabled persons. These services include:

Classes include arts, computers, health and fitness, education, current events, book discussions, games and movies and even separate activities for men and women. There are more than 90 day trips annually and they also offer some extended trips as well.

WALKABILITY & RIDESHARE
Non-motorized transportation usually means bicycling and walking. The SEMCOG was developed as part of a regional, state, and federal transportation goal to reduce traffic, congestion and pollution. SEMCOG is involved in a number of ways in Bloomfield to meet these goals and assist our member communities in developing pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
SEMCOG is also responsible for helping with MiRideshare saving more than one million miles of travel, resulting in fuel savings and reduced congestion. Also saved was more than one million pounds of carbon dioxide with fewer vehicles on the road.
